Jesus said, "Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them" (Matthew 18:20, NRSV).
At Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, there are plenty of opportunities to share and study the Bible together in fellowship with a part of God's family.
Small Group Ministries
Prayer Group
The Prayer group meets on Saturdays at 10 o'clock. At the meetings, attendees read, pray, sing, and share opinions and thoughts. All are welcome to come to the prayer group.
United Methodist Women (UMW)
The UMW meets on the second Saturday of each month at 10 o'clock. The UMW is a supportive community of women. Our focus is mission and participating in the global ministries of the church.
Emmaus
The Walk to Emmaus is a three day experience, sponsored by the United Methodist Church, that takes a New Testament look at Christianity as a lifestyle. The highly structured weekend is designed to strengthen and invigorate the faith of Christian people, and through them, their families, their congregations, and the world in which they live. The program's approach seriously considers the model of Christ's servanthood and encourages Christ's disciples to act in ways appropriate to being "a servant of all."
Good Shepherd United Methodist Church is affiliated with the Crossroads Emmaus community of New England. If you are interested in attending the Walk to Emmaus, anyone who has attended can sponsor you. Walks are held twice a year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall.
New Hope Reunion Group
The New Hope Reunion group is available for people who have participated in the Walk to Emmaus and who want to continue their pursuit of a lifestyle of Christian discipleship. We meet twice a month. At our meetings we listen to each other, celebrate the grace of God in our lives, and reinforce our commitment to living in union with Christ in all facets of our daily life.
