Christian Education
We offer a Christian Education program for children from nursery to high school age. We share the love of God with the children and youth through worship, while teaching them the Bible and nurturing their spiritual growth. Children and youth meet for Sunday School on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month.
Tween Team & Youth Group
We offer a tween team (grades 3-6) and a youth group (grades 7-12), designed to provide a fun environment in which youth can grow in Christian love and commitment. The youth group provides numerous activities, events and small groups to give kids a chance to learn, grow, strengthen their faith, and make friends. (link)
Flicks & Faith
What is Flicks and Faiths purpose?
Our goal for Flicks and Faith is to continue to help provide a place where young adults experiencing a disability (members of Malden's PACE program /EMARC's Basketball program) can be with their peers in a social, no pressure, fun environment. Our purpose is to not only discuss positive character traits and meaningful lessons we learn from themes relating to God in our movies, but to provide an environment where our young adults can develop and generalize positive social skills. But more importantly, Just hang out with friends!
Over the past year we have seen growth in the areas of independence, responsibility, accountability, and so much more. We have achieved our goals as we come upon our year anniversary! We are grateful to Good Shepherd UMC for providing a safe space for our young ladies and gentlemen to come to every Friday night to experience a social get together that they probably would not be able to enjoy with their peers if we did not have this donated space. Thank you!
We thank the young men and women who attend our movie nights and their parents who bring them and provide snacks, water, and donations.
We want to say a HUGE Thank you to Mike from SDA who is here every Friday helping with fans, lights, and my favorite- opening the alarmed door!
As we move forward this year, our new goals include integrating some physical + other social activities along with/in place of our movie for the evening!
